I mainly use coffee from the Asociación Miguel Grau cooperative in the Chanchamayo region of Peru. Around 50 farmers here use traditional cultivation and harvesting methods (picking by hand) to produce top-quality coffee, which receives at least 84 points in the Specialty Coffee Association's rating system. In order to support the cooperative even further and to continue to offer the coffee farmers an economic perspective, I donate €10.00 per kilogram of coffee that I use to the cooperative. This supports the cooperative with social, economic or technological projects.
The majority of my coffees come from the company Rösthof, which has been producing specialty coffees in the idyllic village of Holste Oldendorf (Northern Germany) since 2020. The focus here is on perfect coffee enjoyment and fair treatment of nature and all people in the value chain. Quality, transparency and sustainability can be found in every bean! The green coffees are sourced directly from small farmers, who receive significantly more than the Fairtrade price for beans of this quality. With dedication and decades of experience, unique coffees are roasted here traditionally, gently and at low temperatures in a drum roaster. The Pacha Mama espresso used is characterized by a balanced blend of sweetness (chocolate) and a fine, fruity acidity (tropical fruits).
